Kyle Horner, P.E.
President
Kyle Horner co‑founded Horner Building Company with his brother Eric in 2022, and now serves as its President, guiding the firm’s strategic growth and technical excellence. A University of Tennessee graduate with a B.S. in Civil Engineering (Cum Laude), Kyle went on to earn his Professional Engineer license while serving as both Project Engineer and Sevier County Office Manager at a regional civil engineering firm.
In 2019, Kyle transitioned into commercial contracting as Project Manager and Vice President of Development for a large-scale firm specializing in hospitality and entertainment. There, he managed project lifecycles for hotels, restaurants, and attractions worth over $100 million.
At Horner Building Company, Kyle combines engineering precision with leadership vision to oversee a sizable portfolio and manage day-to-day operations across projects built by a team of 35+ employees. Together with Eric, he has helped position HBC as a top-tier commercial contractor in East Tennessee through technical innovation and operational excellence.
Kyle’s earlier experience—including pre‑development studies, design coordination, and local/state agency navigation—means he approaches each project from both an engineering and regulatory perspective, ensuring comprehensive execution from concept through completion.
Kyle has led several notable projects including Tanger Outlet Malls, Sevier County Electric System, City of Gatlinburg Public Works Complex as well as several others.
His professional excellence has been recognized with the 2017 Young Engineer of the Year awards from both the Knoxville Chapter of TSPE and the Tennessee Chapter of NSPE, and he served on the board of the Sevier County Economic Development Council from 2017 to 2019.
He and his wife Jamie live in Sevierville with their two children, Brooks and Reagan. In his free time, Kyle enjoys exploring the outdoors, tackling new projects, and supporting initiatives that benefit his home region.
